About Me
Mr. Cameron Brown
Hello, my name is Cameron Brown.
Here are a few things about me:
I am a graduate of Berea College with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education (Summa Cum Laude)
I have lived in Rockcastle County, KY all of my life in the town of Brodhead.
I did my student teaching at Shannon Johnson Elementary in Berea, KY. I had placements in fourth grade math and in first grade.
During my time at Berea College, I was the program manager for Berea Buddies, a youth mentoring program that served the youth of Berea by pairing them with a college volunteer. It was my work with Berea Buddies that inspired me to go into elementary education and gave me lots of valuable skills when working with children, parents, and the community.
I have been a substitute teacher for Rockcastle County Schools since August 2020.
My coursework at Berea has taught me a wide variety of skills and resources while also showing me different corners of the world. In the summer of 2022, I was in Tucson, AZ learning about Native Americans and migrants through visits to community organizations.
I am a strong supporter of youth development programs like 4-H. Having seen the power of 4-H, I think it is vital that all students find a passion that fosters growth and allows them to thrive.
I am a member of Kappa Delta Pi, the education honor society.
I have a passion for science and social studies, and I often look for ways I can integrate that knowledge in math and language arts lessons, and vice versa.
